Introduction

Hello!  I am Amanda and I am majoring in mass communications.  My primary focus is journalism and I feel that in today's world even writers need to understand the impact and importance of good visuals.  I hope that this class will make me a better asset to any online or print magazines or newspapers that I contribute to in the future.  In addition, I run a small online shop selling handmade and vintage goods.  I really feel that this class will help me step up my shop game!  I would love to include better visuals in my shop and its various social media outlets.  I feel as though I have a decently critical eye for visuals, in that I know what I like.  However, it's hard for me to describe WHY I like something and even more challenging for me to create things that I like.  I feel that having some access to the theories behind visual communication will help me tremendously in this area.  Thank you for reading!
